Detroit Tree Artisans is a black owned business that cares as much about Detroit as it does about trees. We believe that by preserving and protecting Detroit's trees, we are also preserving and protecting Detroit's neighborhoods. Simply put, our mission is to nurture the beauty, health, and vitality of your trees in an educated and efficient manner that meets the needs of our community and helps it to thrive! We do this by way of a commitment to safe and proven arboricultural practices.
The owner, Amanda Herr is a certified arborist, utility specialist, commercial pesticide applicator, and experienced climber who loves trees and really enjoys being connected to nature.

HISTORY:

Started in the "green" industry as a groundskeeper with Wayne State University.

Began a career in forestry as a municipal trimmer with the City of Detroit.

Branched off into residential and utility tree work, learning to climb in the process.

Finally, entering the industry as a female, minority business owner.
